Rok Mocnik family travel blogger at Osaka castle in Japan
Osaka Castle, Japan – one of many trips that shaped TravelDad.

Hi, I’m Rok

I’m a dad documenting real family travel across Europe and beyond – from stadium dreams and theme parks to hidden city gems and honest travel budgets.

Years ago, I started blogging about budget travel. But once kids entered the picture, travel changed.

Travel stopped being about ticking destinations off a list – and became about shared memories, smart planning and making the most of every trip (even the chaotic ones).

TravelDad was born from that shift.

What you’ll find here:

  • Family-friendly travel guides
  • Honest cost breakdowns
  • Practical itineraries
  • Theme park & stadium experiences
  • Real-life travel moments (the chaos included)

I believe family travel doesn’t need to be luxury.

But it should be meaningful – and planned smartly.

When I’m not planning the next trip, I’m editing videos, writing guides or chasing hte next “20-year dream” moment.

Welcome to the journey.

A Few Random Things About Me

  • Planning trips is almost as fun as the travel itself
  • The best memories usually come from the unplanned moments
  • I secretly enjoy airports chaos
  • Favourite place I visited (until now): Key West – Florida

If you’re here, you probably believe travel should be real – not staged.
